Section X: Host Country Documentation

We filed an Application for Assignment before the Republic of Nauru in December 2002, asking for assignment of geosynchronous orbital (GSO) slots and W-band frequency assignments in the W-band. Nauru granted our Application in early March 2004. As of Friday, 11 September 2009, we intend to operate a constellation containing up to TWELVE spacecraft placed at approximately 30° intervals at GSO.

Application for Assignment

Originally filed in December 2002, this document contains a formal explanation of what SWANsat is and how it will work.

First Amendment to Application for Assignment

This document revised the original application to request three GSO slots for operation of the SWANsat system.

Second Amendment to Application for Assignment

This document revised the application to request a total of six GSO slots for operation of the SWANsat system.

Third Amendment to Application for Assignment

[Removed from list.] This document revised the application to request a total of six GSO slots for operation of the SWANsat system.

Fourth Amendment to Application for Assignment

[Removed from this list.] This document revised the application to request a change in the W-band frequency assignments for operation of the SWANsat system.

Fifth Amendment to Application for Assignment

Amendments 3 and 4, filed in 2005, were withdrawn and refiled as a concatenated Fifth Amendment to Application for Assignments. This document revised the application to request a total of 12 GSO slots for operation of the SWANsat system, along with a minor change in frequency assignments.

Rules for Applications in the W-Band

These rules by which Nauru processes and grants applications for telecommunications satellites for operation in the W-band were adopted on 8 March 2004.

Grant of Application for Assignment

This is the formal document released by the Nauru government on 8 March 2004 by which our Application for Assignment was approved.

Authorization Letter to ITU

Also released on 8 March 2004, this document was sent by the Republic of Nauru to the ITU, authorizing us to file a claim of first commercial use of the W-band before that body.
