Section XVIII: On Islamic Banking Issues

In early March 2006, we were invited to present a morning address to the International Forum for Internet Strategies and Investment 2006 (IFISI 2006), sponsored by Ericsson and the Islamic Development Bank. We came away from that conference determined to analyze how SWANsat could serve as an investment vehicle to serve the needs of international Islamic development banks. We have addressed how this can be accomplished in our white paper essay entitled Islamic Banking and Shareware Telecommunications:

We also ran across an excellent list of Frequently Asked Questions relating to investment criteria do's and don'ts with respect to Islamic banking. This essay was authored by two Muslim individuals affiliated with an office of the Islamic Development Bank located in Saudi Arabia.

These two essays tend to demonstrate that investment in the SWANsat System is not inconsistent with shari'a, the Islamic system of jurisprudence. If you're interested in receiving a comprehensive briefing document on SWANsat that contains our Shareware Telecommunications essay, our Executive Summary, our white paper on Islamic Banking and Shareware Telecommunications, a valuation of the economic assets represented by the pre-launch and post-launch SWANsat Systems, and our reprint of the Prahalad-Hart essay The Fortune at the Bottom of the Pyramid, then you may:
