On
Monday, 27 September 2010, SWANsat Holdings discontinued long-term
negotiations with its former candidate vendor that had been under
consideration to design, construct, launch, deploy, operate, and
manage the SWANsat System.
Instead, SWANsat Holdings has formed SWANsat Aerospace, LLC, a
Wyoming Limited Liability Company and its wholly owned subsidiary,
to serve as a provider for design, construction,
launch, deployment, management, and ongoing operation of the SWANsat System space
segments, earth-based Telemetry, Tracking, and Control (TT&C)
facilities, and the SWANsat System Satellite Network Operation
Centers (SNOCs).
SWANsat
Aerospace may be tasked to serve as prime contractor, or to
contract with a candidate prime contractor, for the SWANsat constellation.
SWANsat Aerospace
may also be tasked to provide for and/or oversee the design and
construction of SWANsat's earth segments, including construction
of initial end-user handsets, receiver systems, and various
related components that make up the hardware side of SWANsat.
SWANsat Aerospace is expected to work closely with SWANsat
Information Systems, the software side of SWANsat operations, to
coordinate all other aspects of user-interface and backend office
operations, including security services. |
